Alveopora corals are often mistaken for Goniopora, but are generally easier to care for, with 12 tentacle tips per polyp (vs. Goni’s 24). Their soft, flowing polyps and flower-like appearance make them a graceful addition to any reef.
Lighting:
🔆 Moderate (80–150 PAR)
Tolerant of various lighting conditions. Too much light can cause retraction or bleaching, so acclimate slowly.
Flow:
🌊 Low to Moderate
Prefers indirect, random flow that allows polyp extension without blasting them. Strong flow may cause retraction or damage.

Ensure the coral can extend freely. Avoid aggressive neighbors with sweeper tentacles.
Feeding:

Photosynthetic, but benefits from occasional feeding of microfoods like reef roids, powdered coral food, or phytoplankton.
Growth Rate:
🌱 Moderate
Faster than Goniopora and more forgiving. Fragging is possible but should be done carefully due to their skeletal structure.
