Care

• Difficulty: Easy to moderate.
• Light: Moderate reef lighting, about 80–150 PAR. Too little light and the gold tips dull; too much and tentacles stay in.
• Flow: Moderate, indirect. Tentacles should sway, not flatten. Direct blast keeps them closed.
• Placement: Middle rockwork with room to sweep. Leave several inches from neighbors — hammers have strong sweeper tentacles.
• Feeding: Photosynthetic. Occasional mysis, chopped shrimp, or LPS pellets a few times a week when tentacles are out speeds growth. It still lives without target feeding.
