R2G Spitfire Zoanthid

Aquaculture — USA-grown Spitfire zoanthid (Zoanthus sp.) frag.

Zoanthids are colorful, beginner-friendly soft corals whose polyps open by day and spread across rockwork into full colonies. Start this frag in a lower to middle spot with moderate, indirect flow and low to moderate light, then raise the light gradually once the polyps open consistently. Give it room to spread, or a dedicated rock, so it does not crowd slower-growing neighbors.

• Light: Low to medium (start around 75–200 PAR, increase gradually)
• Flow: Moderate, indirect
• Placement: Rockwork, lower to middle of the tank to start
• Space: About 1–2 inches from neighbors

Handling note: zoanthids can contain palytoxin. Wear gloves and eye protection when handling or fragging, wash hands afterward, and never boil zoanthid-covered rock.
