Rainbow Symphyllia – Thick, Lush, and Full of Color

The Rainbow Symphyllia (aka Symphyllia wilsoni or Scoly cousin) is a bold and fleshy LPS coral known for its swirling rainbow patterns and meaty ridges. With hues of red, orange, green, pink, and sometimes blue, it makes a dramatic statement in any reefscape.

Coral Highlights:

  • 🌈 Multicolor Striations – A true rainbow of color on one coral

  • 🧠 Lobed, Puffy Texture – Like a psychedelic maze of color

  • 💡 Lighting: Low to moderate PAR (80–150) – intense lighting may fade coloration

  • 🌊 Flow: Low to moderate – enough to keep it clean without tissue stress

  • 🧪 Parameters:

    • Temp: 75–78°F

    • Salinity: 1.025

    • dKH: 8–11

    • Calcium: 420–460 ppm

    • Magnesium: 1300–1400 ppm

    • Nitrate: 2–10 ppm

    • Phosphate: 0.02–0.08 ppm

Placement: On sandbed or low rockwork – give room for polyp expansion

Feeding: Loves target feeding 1–2x per week (mysis, reef roids, amino-rich coral foods)

Care Level: Easy to Moderate – great for LPS lovers who want color and motion
